Hannah: Tallinn, Estonia: August 1, 2015

Wow! Today is already August! Anyway, today's weather was gorgeous. Thank goodness. We had to wake up earlier than normal, because we docked at 7:00 am. We had breakfast, and headed out (along with the Coco's, Diane and Bob) and met our 6' 2" female guide. Yes. She was that tall. Our tour started in the upper level of the medieval section in Tallinn. I must say, I just might move to Estonia. The city is gorgeous, and if anyone is thinking about going to the Baltic countries I highly recommend visiting Estonia. So far, this is my favorite country. But anyway, we went into a Russian Orthodox Church where a service was going on. There was a beautiful choir. The music was hauntingly beautiful. After walking through the upper town, we went through some gates that separated the upper half from the lower half. Some of the kids got drinks, like cappuccinos and sprite. I tried the Estonian version of root beer. To me, it tasted like sassafras... Liquid sassafras mixed with a little bit of cough syrup... Not the best. We also visited a marzipan shop and one of the first pharmacies full of dried toad and burned hedgehog. Our guide left us after our 3 hour tour. Then we ate lunch. After lunch, we had an hour to shop. I didn't want to shop, but I still got a postcard. (For your info, I collect postcards from my travels and make a scrapbook out of them.) Then we road for about half an hour to my favorite part of the day. We drove ATVs on an old military base. It was so much fun! Everyone got to drive their own ATV. We drove for about an hour up and down hills. It was so much fun. What was funny, was that the scenery looks just like Evergreen, Colorado, but with smaller trees. After the ATVs, we went back to the ship. We had about an hour before dinner, so I went up and watched the kids play soccer. (I felt bad for this one girl because she slipped and fell and her knee cap ended up on the outside of her knee... Get this, her brother did the same thing while playing dodgeball two days ago.) After soccer I went down and got ready for dinner. Dinner was good, then I went back to the teen room and played fusbol, cards, and colored bandanas. Then the teens played dodgeball indoors in the kids center because the winds on deck were too strong. Now I am in the room lounging on the couch typing this blog post. Tomorrow is Riga, Latvia. We're just going to have a day of relaxation, and we are just going to walk around the old city, maybe grab something to eat, and then get back on the ship.
See y'all!
~Hannah~
