Well good Morning!
Wow! We're in London! So, this morning we got up around 6:45 am, had a lovely breakfast of bread, butter, and cheese (for some people...sumner and dad also had prosciutto and salami) oh! The lady who wer'e renting the apartment through, has English Breakfast Tea and Earl Grey Tea. So, I had a wonderful cup of tea. After breakfast, we headed out into London. We're actually 20 minutes from the center of London, but we bought tube tickets. We walked about 5 blocks to the train. We rode one tube for a few stops, switched trains after about 15 minutes, and finally arrived in the center of London. (Right next to the National Gallery of Art) we decided to go relatively easy, so we took this historical hop on hop off bus tour. It was very nice because we had a live guide who told us about the sites we went by. We got off at Buckingham palace to watch the changing of the guard. Now, it was absolutely insane because literally everyone was there to watch the changing of the guard. We didn't get front row viewing spots, but we got to see the royal band go by and we saw glimpses of the changing. After about 45 minutes, we left and went to a traditional-ish English pub. Sumner, mom, and I got fish and chips. It was very good. After a very relaxing lunch, we got back on the hop on hop off bus and rode to a river boat tour. The boat tour was lovely. We got a different view of Westminster Abbey, the London Eye, and the Tower of London. After the boat tour we got back on the bus where we were dropped off near the National Gallery of Art. There were tons of paintings. there were wonderful paintings by Monet, Botticelli, Michelangelo, da Vinci, Caravaggio, and many more. We could have spent hours in the museum, but we only had an hour and a half because the closing hours were shorter than normal. (It was a Sunday) When we went back to the apartment, we dropped bags and such off and went to an Indian place for dinner. It was one of the closest things to our apartment and we were very tired. After a lovely dinner, we went to bed.
Looking forward to tomorrow!
Cheerio,
~Hannah~
