Hannah - Stockholm: Day 2

Hej! - Hello!
Again we woke up later than normal, but at least we knew breakfast didn't end at 10:00. After a not so hurried frukost, we got ready to go on our bike tour. Since we arrived at the meeting place an hour and a half early, we went into Stockholm's natural history museum. Starting in one section, we realized everything was in Swedish. Sooooo, we wandered around until we found the Viking section. That...was very cool. Not only was the exhibit inside, but there were some interactive activites in a courtyard. There were some traditional Viking games like throwing T-shaped sticks at wooden poles (the point was to knock down the poles in tyree tries...I got one down in 5...), tug-of-war, and archery. There was also a life size version of a Viking boat. Soon the time came for us to head over and meet our bike tour guide. We actually had a big group with around 30 people. Biking through Stockholm was extraordinarily enjoyable. It was nice seeing the different parts of the city...until it started raining on us. Luckily the rain didn't start until we were 3/4 of the way through. After the two hour bike tour we went to the Nordiska Museet. This museum was absolutely massive. Built to look like the neo renaissance, the interior of the building looked like a church. The actual exhibits took us step by step through the history of Sweden. After walking through this gigantic museum, we walked through the rain, boarded tram, transferred to a bus, rode that until the end of the line, then walked in the rain to our hotel. We were so blessed yesterday with such beautiful weather when we went to the open air museum. However, the weather this morning/early afternoon was still very pleasant. Now we are in our hotel attempting to dry off. I believe we are staying here for the rest if the night. Tomorrow we board the ship!!!

Vi ses senare!
