*Just a quick heads up, I'm sorry this is such a long post. This will most likely be the longest post...unless something amazingly noteworthy happens ;) every other day should be quite a bit shorter*
I'm not entirely sure how soon I will have internet once we get out of the United States. However, I should have internet at our hotel in Stockholm :) I look forward to sharing more about our trip! (Check out the photos in "The Transit" because I might post some pictures.)
Just took off! It's 5:34 and the scenery is gorgeous! The rain really has been a blessing. From this view the land is dotted with varying shades of green fields with the dark outline of the mountains in the background. With a 6 hour and 58 minute flight ahead, hopefully I will get some sleep. There's also The Hobbit to watch on the in-flight tv :)
One and a half hours left. Unfortunately we have a baby right behind us who has cried most of the way. I've watched 2 1/2 movies. "The Hobbit: Battle of the Five Armies," "Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb," and part of "Around the World in 80 Days." Soooo tired though. It's currently 11:20 pm Colorado time, but where we are landing (Reykjavik, Iceland) it's 5:20 am. However, watching the sun set over the ocean, then the sun rise over...something was stunning.
35 minutes to go!!! The sun is up and the ground is pure white.
So we're finally in Sweden! Baggage claim took a long time. It seemed like they had the whole airport on one belt. (Not really) we spent about 20 minutes, after getting our bags, trying to figure out where we went to get on the train that wild take us into Stockholm. We finally found it! It's an underground train until it gets about 5 minutes out of airport property. We got checked in to our hotel that we will be staying in until the cruise starts. We have a lovely view of a Swedish park. (Look under Stockholm, Sweden in photo gallery for the view from our hotel room.) After getting our stuff settled in the room, we walked around Stockholm...Mainly looking for the visitors center, but also to see Stockholm. It's a very lovely town...busy, but delightful. Once we found a place to have dinner, we ate, then headed back to our room to crash. Man, does time change mess up your body. Luckily we don't really have any plans tomorrow, so we can sleep in ;) Oh! If any of you wonder, Sweden is 8 hours earlier than Colorado time.
Goodnight y'all...haha I'm falling asleep as I'm writing this blog.
Get to you all tomorrow!
~Hannah~
