Hannah- Last Day in Stockholm

today was our last day in Stockholm. After breakfast, we headed out. Even after 4 days, we still couldn't find our way to our destination. We'd been on bikes, subways, buses, trams, taxis, and streets. It was time we got on water. So we went on an hour long boat, the excursion was around the archipelago of Sweden. Other than the putrid smell of the boat, the boat  was very delightful. Thankfully the weather was gorgeous, so we had no issues. After the boat tour, we went to the king's palace. We saw ruins from a fire, crossbows, and original chain mail. Then we went into the royal apartments. They were stunning. Full of gold trims, marble statues, grand paintings, and lots of satin, the apartments were a place that definitely screamed royalty. The cool thing about the apartments was that the rooms are still used today by the royalty and their guests. Once we finished the palace, we walked around Gamla Stan again. The we went back to the ship, which leaves at 4:00 pm. Now we must go to a required drill.
So...after the drill and a quick snack, Sumner and I played ping pong with some of the other teens (two boys from Israel, a girl from Texas, a boy from Montreal, a boy from Colorado...woot woot...and a boy from California. Ha-ha, it seems like girls are outnumbered on this trip...at least for the teens. Anywho, we played until 5:45. Then we realized our dinner reservations for formal dinner were at 6:00. Oh dear! Luckily we got dressed quick enough. Since last time we had to sit with a family with a 2 year old and a 4 year old who climbed around our feet and stuck rubber toys in drinks, we requested a different table. This time...we were with two couples from Germany. They spoke basically no English. Fortunate for us mom spoke some German, so at least we could communicate. Dinner was good, but long. Almost two hours. After dinner Sumner and I participated in some teen games. The first thing on the schedule was play in the arcade. however no one knew where that was.. So this group of teens (including us) wandered around the entire ship looking for this room. Turned out it was right around the corner from the teen room...oh well, we got our exercise. Finally we found the arcade, and I played a lot of air hockey. At about 10:30 Sumner and I left. So because tomorrow is Helsinki, Finland, we lose an hour...so it really was 11:30 instead of 10:30.
Well...it's 12:40. I probably should be going to bed because tomorrow we are kayaking!
